Further Information
LTL Robotics offers specialised STEAM-related training programs for students in grades 1 through 12, focusing on Computer Science, Python Programming, and Robotics. Classes are held at our Centurion office, located at 287 Blackwood Avenue, Hennopspark, with specific times and frequencies depending on the grade and course. Online classes are also available for the homeschool community.
Class Schedules:
Grades 1-4: Classes are held every alternate week, with each session lasting 1.5 hours.
Grades 5-12: Classes occur weekly, each session lasting 1.5 hours.
Classes are kept small for maximum interaction and development impact: 8-12 students per session
Sessions are scheduled either from 14:00 to 15:30 or from 16:00 to 17:30, as per the specific course timetable (above).
Course Offerings:
Computer Science (Grades 1-12):
Grades 1-4: Focus on block-based coding, following an international curriculum.
Grades 5-12: Transition to syntax-based coding, covering HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Python Programming (Grades 6-12+):
Designed for students with prior coding experience; completion of at least one year of Computer Science Level 3 is recommended.
Follows an international curriculum with certification opportunities (minimum age for certification is 13).
Courses are offered at Entry-level, Associate Level, and Professional Level.
Robotics (Grades 5-12+):
Levels 1 & 2: Begin with block-based coding.
Level 3: Advance to MicroPython programming.
Opportunities to participate in the First Lego League (FLL) Robotics Regional and South African National Championships are merit-based.
Team selection occurs in July, with preparations starting in August for the Gauteng Regional Championships in November and the National Championships in December.
